Join Our Efforts in Aviation Preservation
We are the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) wing located in Birmingham, Alabama. Our mission is to pass on the rich legacy of aviation in Alabama to the next generation and honor those who came before us through maintaining and flying historic military aircraft.
Our wing has acquired a world war two-era US army trainer aircraft, a PT-19 Fairchild, to begin this endeavor. If you would like to help in furthering this cause, please reach out to us about joining our team. All are welcome and encouraged to get involved with the aircraft and outreach programs we are working to start throughout Central Alabama.
It's a Crucial Time to Preserve History,

Commemorative Air Force
The Commemorative Air Force is the world's largest flying museum, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of historic military aircraft. The CAF Birmingham Escadrille has a fleet of over 170 aircraft that are assigned to unit locations worldwide.
Alabama and Aviation
The state of Alabama has been home to many of aviation's most important milestones. The Wright brothers chose Montgomery as the home of the first flight school, Molton Field is home to the trailblazing Tuskegee airmen of World War II, and today, over 300 aerospace companies operate out of Alabama. With such rich history, we hope you will consider honoring that legacy and join us today.
